Let's Take a Dip Into the Past

Of course that is what we ALWAYS do here in The Underworld, but this is a tad different.  In fact, this post is most unusual because unlike practically every post I have ever done at this site, it doesn't involve any celebrities!!  While working on photos for my (step)sister blog Krazy Kaptions, in which I create hilariously perverse captions to go along with vintage snapshots, I have managed to accrue a selection of old pictures that are not right for that site, but which might hold appeal to a great number of Underworld readers/viewers.  They are vintage photographs of everyday guys dressed in the swimwear of their day.

Fortunately for us, the swimwear is virtually all very trim, snug and revealing, the antithesis of the board shorts and multi-layered underwear and gym clothing that many guys go swimming in today (this latter phenomena for reasons known only to them....)  This was the day when men thought nothing of frolicking at the pool or the beach, with family or friends, in simple, skimpy, often very appealing, suits and trunks.  There is a wide, wide variety of types here, so I hope there's something for everyone.  As far as I'm aware, all of these pictures are of (often above)average Joes having fun, not models of any kind.  Several are of soldiers in recreation.  I find them captivating and I hope you do too until I re-emerge with another movie or TV related post!  I've avoided commentary, preferring to let the visuals speak for themselves.  Let's dive right in!
